As a leading company in recycling in Norway, we are constantly seeking to improve our processes for a sustainable future. We have therefore chosen to join the United Nation Global Compact.
We believe that none of the UN's sustainability goals are achievable without cooperation. That is why we work closely with the entire value chain for plastics. At the same time, we work closely with research actors in Norway's leading research environments with the aim of constantly establishing new plastic fractions in circular value chains.
In Norway, large amounts of plastic resources are deposited every year. This leads to large emissions of micro- and nanoplastics, pollution that finds its way to Norwegian ecosystems. By recycling the plastic, the need for waste disposal is reduced.
We support collection groups for ownerless marine plastic. The plastic that is collected is sorted and recycled by us before it gets new life in new products. In this way, we make a contribution to prove that plastics that are lost are resources that go astray.
By offering an alternative to incineration and export of plastic waste, we prevent large CO 2 emissions. At the same time, the need for production of new virgin plastic is reduced. In total, we are equipped to save the atmosphere more than 30 million kg CO 2 every year.
By establishing large amounts of plastic resources, referred to as waste, in circular value chains, we contribute to the responsible management of non-renewable resources. We enable both responsible plastic consumption and responsible plastic production. We have signed Shift Norway's 10 principles for a more circular business life
Economic growth often leads to growth in waste. In Norway, the goal is for economic growth to be greater than growth in waste. We work for both economic growth by being a pioneering company in recycling and that we work for reduced waste volumes.
"A use of resources today that satisfies today's needs, without compromising our descendants"
Plastic is a non-renewable resource, which is precisely why plastic must be established in circular value chains. This means that the resources are preserved in the value chain, and that the plastic resources are tracked.
Oceanize is the hub that enables circularity, we achieve this through close collaboration with all players in the value chain, from consumers and waste owners to manufacturers and suppliers. Oceanize offers a transparent treatment of plastic waste in Norway, for circularity, for sustainable resource management.
